Deleting your workspace
During Limited Availability, Gnok deletes workspaces on request. Gnok also deletes a workspace whose trial or paid subscription ended once its data retention period is over (see below).
Before you ask
Export anything you want to keep. Deletion can't be undone once the waiting period ends.
Ask for deletion
Email support@gnok.com from the address of one of your workspace's administrators, with:
- your workspace's sign-in name (for example
acme_corp); - a line confirming you want the workspace and all its data deleted.
We may reply to confirm before we act.
What happens
- Right away: nobody can sign in to the workspace any more, and existing sessions are signed out.
- For 7 days: the workspace is kept in case you change your mind. Email support@gnok.com within that time to cancel.
- After 7 days: the workspace's catalogs, tables and files, members, settings and history are deleted. Copies in database backups and earlier versions of files expire within 30 days after that.
Gnok keeps a short record that the workspace existed (its name, and when and why it was deleted), so the workspace's sign-in name stays reserved and can't be reused.
After a trial or subscription ends
Gnok also deletes a workspace automatically when its data retention period ends:
- A workspace whose trial ended (its credits were used up, or its 60 days passed) without an upgrade is kept for 30 days after the trial's end date. Its administrators are emailed when the trial ends, with the date until which the data is kept.
- A workspace whose Standard subscription ended is kept for 30 days after the end; subscribing again restores it.
During those 30 days compute is stopped for everything except export: you can still sign in, run read-only queries on your workspace's default warehouse, download tables as CSV or Parquet, and use Export all tables on Usage & billing, with up to 2 CU of compute a day for exports at no charge. Usage & billing shows the date until which export is available; see Exporting your data. Upgrading or subscribing again keeps the workspace. When the 30 days pass, the workspace goes through the steps above: sign-in stops, the workspace is kept for 7 days, and then its data is deleted.
Leaving a workspace instead
If you only want to leave a workspace someone else administers, ask one of its administrators to remove you. Your data in that workspace belongs to it, not to you.
