Limited Availability and known limitations

Gnok is in Limited Availability

Gnok is a preview, not a production service: it may change, be unavailable, or be reset without notice, and there is no uptime commitment. Data you store may be deleted, including when the preview ends. Don't upload personal, confidential or regulated data (for example health, financial or customer records). AI features send your prompts and the data they reference to our AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI). Questions: support@gnok.com.

The full notice is at gnok.com/limited-availability. Using Gnok is subject to the Terms of Service, including their Limited Availability section, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Privacy Policy. If your data includes personal information, the Data Processing Addendum covers it; Gnok's subprocessors are listed on gnok.com.

What to expect

  • No service-level agreement. Gnok may be slow, unavailable or under maintenance, sometimes without notice. Current health is on the status page. Operating targets published on Gnok's status pages describe what Gnok's own checks measure; they aren't a commitment or a service-level agreement.
  • Things change. SQL behavior, limits, APIs and Studio may change during the preview. These docs describe the current service.
  • Data may be deleted. Keep your own copy of anything you need. See Exporting your data.
  • Addresses. Use the gnok.com addresses: Studio is at studio.gnok.com, sign-in at login.gnok.com, the API and token issuer at https://api.gnok.com, and the SQL services at sql.gnok.com and db.gnok.com. The earlier gnok.io addresses redirect there, and SQL connections and integrations set up before October 2, 2026 keep working. Always start from studio.gnok.com.
  • No sensitive data. Use sample, synthetic or public data. Gnok holds no compliance certifications during the preview.

Getting access

Anyone can sign up at login.gnok.com/signup. During the preview:

  • Gnok reviews each new workspace. After you verify your email, you'll get another email when your workspace is approved and you can sign in. Your trial starts on that day.
  • The number of workspaces is limited. If the preview is full, the sign-up page says so; email support@gnok.com to join the waitlist.
  • Sign-ups that aren't verified within 24 hours are removed 7 days later, which frees the workspace name and email address.

The trial

There is no permanent free plan. Every new workspace starts with a 60-day trial with $400 of credits; no payment card is needed.

  • Your own warehouse. When your workspace is approved, Gnok creates compute_wh, an X-Small warehouse that suspends itself after 5 minutes without queries and resumes on the next one. Statements run on it unless you choose another warehouse with USE WAREHOUSE. You can create up to 3 warehouses, up to Medium in size; the hardware behind each size is in Resource governance.
  • What the credits cover. Everything Gnok meters, at Standard list prices: warehouse compute while a warehouse runs, running notebooks, storage, and AI tokens. Studio shows the credits used and left under Usage & billing; Billing & credits explains each meter.
  • Notices. Workspace administrators get an email at 50%, 80% and 100% of the credits, and 7 days and 1 day before the trial ends.
  • When the credits run out or the 60 days end, whichever comes first, compute stops: your warehouses are suspended, and new queries, notebooks and AI requests are refused with a message that says why, except exports (below). You can still sign in, and your data is kept.
  • Data retention. If you don't upgrade, your data is kept for 30 days after the trial's end date; then the workspace is deleted as described in Deleting your workspace. The same applies after a Standard subscription ends. While your data is kept you can still export it at no charge from Usage & billing: read-only queries, table downloads as CSV or Parquet, and Export all tables run on your default warehouse, with up to 2 CU of compute a day. See Exporting your data.
  • Upgrading. Upgrading restores access at once, and credits you haven't used keep applying until the trial's end date. Paid plans are pay-as-you-go (compute per second, storage per TB-month, AI per million tokens): Standard is self-serve and Enterprise is by contract. Online payment isn't available yet, so email support@gnok.com to upgrade.

The trial's length, credits and limits may change for workspaces that start later. Section 4 of the Terms of Service has the exact terms.

When you reach a limit, new work of that kind is refused with a message that names the limit; existing work keeps running. Your workspace's usage is in Studio under Operations → Plan & limits.

Raising a limit: email support@gnok.com with your workspace's name and what you need.

Known limitations

  • Client connectivity (JDBC, the Postgres wire protocol, Flight SQL from your own tools) isn't self-service yet. Use Gnok Studio, or email support@gnok.com to request access. See Connectivity.
  • Warehouses are limited to 3 per workspace, up to Medium, during the trial.
  • Paying for Gnok isn't self-service yet. Standard and Enterprise plans exist, but online payment is off and prices aren't published; to upgrade, email support@gnok.com.
  • Deleting your workspace is done by Gnok on request; see Deleting your workspace.
